The Secret of Success

I just listened to the audio of Earl Nightingale’s “The Strangest Secret in the World.”
I took a few notes, as follows:
Men don’t think.  We live in the Golden Age, but people take it for granted.  We have abundant opportunity.
Success is:  The progressive realization of a worthy ideal.
The problem is that we conform and people are outer directed.
Is there a “key” to guarantee success?
Yes, because of GOALS people know where they are going and how long it will take to get there.
Selling is the highest paid profession.
The key to success and to failure:  “We become what we think about.”
Mark 1:93 – All things are possible to him that believeth.
If you think in negative terms, you will get negative results.
If you think in positive terms, you will achieve positive results.
Believe and succeed.
Concentrate on a worthwhile goal, or there will be confusion.
What we plant, it must return to us.
Plant the seed in your mind.  Care for it.  It will become a reality.
We are the sum total of our thoughts.
I am guided by my mind.
I just control my thinking, for good or for bad.
The Secret of Success:
Life should be an exciting adventure.
“As ye believe so shall it be done unto you.”
Make a Test for 30 Days, and change your life.
We can achieve nothing without paying a price.  Let your mind soar.
1) We become that we think about
2) Permit your mind to soar.  Rise above narrow-minded thinking.
3) Use courage to set a definite goal for yourself.  Refuse defeat.
4) Save at least 10% of every dollar you earn.
Be willing to pay the price:
1) Be willing to commit to become what you think about
2) Imagination – let your mind soar
3) Have the Courage to commit to your goal
4) Save at least 10% of every dollar you earn.
5) Take Action – Ideas are worthless unless we act on them.
Write down on your card what you want more than anything else.
Make sure it is a single goal, clearly defined.  Think about it each morning and throughout the day.
Remember, you must become what you think about.
Look at abundance all around you.
Form a New Habit:
Stop thinking about what you fear; instead, think about your worthwhile goal.
For 30 Days – take control of your mind.
Give of yourself more than ever before.
Know where you are going–you are already in the top 5%.
Write the “Sermon on the Mount” on the back of your card:
  • Ask and it shall be given you
  • Seek and ye shall find
  • Knock and it shall be opened unto you
All you need is a Purpose and Faith.
Do it as never before for 30 days.
Act as though it were impossible to fail.
Don’t start until you are ready to stick with it.  Be persistent
Don’t worry.  Hold your goal before you.  Keep calm and cheerful.
Provide people with services or products which are needed or useful.
We can only earn money after we are successful.
Be of service first.  Money is the yardstick.  Work your dream.
No man can get rich himself unless he enriches others. Create.
Repeat the 30-day test and then do it again and again.
Act the part of the successful person.
Lead a calm, cheerful, successful life.
Note:  While these are key points, it is best to listen to the half-hour presentation by Earl Nightingale.
